Now once we move onto the TR6 notice that the support is now missing replaced by a top flat section welded across the narrow part of the frame. I can only think that cost was the only reason to remove this piece as it was quite a serious and heavy part to produce. Especially compared to a simple flat |

There is also another issue to think about with the differential being mounted onto the frame. The use of the cross-member and the smaller rear cross-member is again a simple and easy way to mount the differential. Unfortunately with the differential being mounted from above with its own driveshafts the torque reaction against the mounts results in the differential cross-members pushing backwards. |

At the same time the wheels are pushing the frame at the pivot point of the trailing arms forward with the front of the car trying to lift upwards. |
