James Doolin holds current licenses for Auto Mechanic,Truck Mechanic and for Collision And Bodywork. He has been in the Auto industry as a Mechanic and Shop owner for over 50 years.
He served his apprenticeship in England in a shop that undertook regular repairs but built and repaired Rally cars. Mini's to be exact. Hence the ability of welding involving structural, accident repairs and fabrication. James was put in the corner with rally damaged cars mostly Mini's (Cooper S) usually requiring a total mechanical rebuild along with Body straightening and repairs. Long term jobs became the norm for James and has continued to today.

Emigrating to Canada in the 70's James was required to sit all his exams for his Trade licenses to obtain work as a mechanic in Canada, which of course he did. After a few years at different shops he finally opened his own shop in 1978 called Doolin's Restorations. He repaired and totally restored cars including British, European and American. Doolin's Restorations later evolved into Dr-Doolin Productions in 1993.

Dr-Doolin Productions was formed in order to produce a video. James produced the video MG Engine Rebuild on completely rebuilding an MGB engine. This was originally done on Super VHS and is now available as a DVD. The MG DVD is sold on Ebay at our store Dr Doolin Parts. Notice that James still has hair in the video.
James obtained a diploma in Web Programming and Multimedia. He enjoys scripting Web pages using Joomla, Javascript, XML and now PHP and SQL. From 2001-2005 he also taught Apprentice Mechanics and Bodymen for five years at Niagara College in Welland, Ontario. All these things definitely contributed to his loss of hair.

At the present time James runs Dr-Doolin Productions with his wife Patti. She helps with the accounting, shipping, and orders as well as keeping everything organized. Patti also produces & sews our Fender Blankets & Mini Car Covers which are also sold on Ebay.

We do of course produce How-To-Videos on British cars. They are posted on YouTube and also on this site.
